*cough* *cough*

So the Faith in Action talent show was Friday (the 28th of April), and I ended up spending most of the day working on that. I felt so sick, it wasn't a good day. I was having problems breathing, felt like I needed to cough constantly, and from time to time felt a bit light headed. I ended up coughing so hard I ended up dizzy. Once in the middle of the show, it was so bad I had to grab the table in front of me to tell which way was up. I finally was able to go to bed around 2 a.m. which was good because I was feeling feverish and chilled.  Saturday wasn't much better, but at least I woke up without feeling like I had a fever.  Didn't get much sleep saturday night, and took a nap Sunday afternoon. All things considered, I'm feeling better. Still not perfect, but...

Anyway, gotta get the stuff finished up for the business.

Wow, two updates today, I'm prolific. :)

I went out to eat with my sister, the Tylermonster, and his grandmother on Nick's side. Coming back, we got rearended sitting at a stoplight. Let's just say it was unpleasant and leave it at that. :(  See you all in the morning.

Oh, and good news!  I have my home email system now doing virus scanning of attachments, spam checking, and I even have a web based access to my emails.  Ain't that cool stuff.

Want an email address at slayernet.org?  Let me know, I'll setcha one up.

Hmm...

Ok, so I'm feeling a bit better, but the sinuses are still putting in lots of overtime trying to make me uncomfortable.  In other news, I think I got a business plan written (1st draft anyway), and a few more services working, like a more secure email, web mail, and possibly mail virus and spam scanning tools. I've been working on the system administration stuff. It seems to be coming along... slowly, but progressing.

Mom 'twisted' my arm so I'll apparently be liturgizing on Sunday morning. Don't miss it, a rare opportunity to see me get tongue-tied in public.  Anyway... I gotta find some laundry detergent... I thought I had some here... if not, I foresee a quick trip to Wally world in my future.  Party on.

What a roller coaster of a week...

Well, as most of you know, we lost power last Sunday, April 2nd? 3rd?  I can't remember. lol Anyway, managed to get all my computers shut down (I woke up and was downstairs less than 5 minutes before it happened!  Otherwise, it would have all died a horrible death to my computers.)  Finally gave up on power being restored, went to Mom's to at least have some company while waiting for everything to come back up, and we broke down at dusk and decided to go see Ice Age 2.  It was kinda funny, so was worth the time.  Got home around 11:30 or so and found power back on, managed to get everything up and running by like 3 a.m. or so again.  Was exhausted most of Monday, and did a bit of work on monday I think, maybe I played World of Warcraft to relax, I can't remember. I think I was trying, but got kicked off because they were having multiple issues.  Tuesday, they had problems most of the day, and kept us offline.  Anyway, all was pretty good until wednesday. I woke up to find my file server with all my data here at the house had a hard drive failure.  And of course, the system was *NOT* backed up. :(  So, I spent all day wednesday trying to recover the system, well into late thursday morning. As if that's not bad enough, I woke up Wed feeling like I was getting sick, and guess what!  I did. go figure. So, trying to get all that crap put back together took a whole bunch of time and effort, and I ended up losing a few things in the process, but most of what I lost I don't care about.  I'm just happy I got most of the data back off it.  Anyway, I was kinda stressed out over the whole thing, and have just felt miserable all through the rest of the week.

I've been hacking up a lung every time I turn around since like friday night, and just didn't feel like I could sit in church and not either end up causing a big distraction with a huge coughing fit, or getting sick.  Anyway, still not feeling so hot, but I gotta get stuff going again.Still just feeling like my head will explode. On the plus side, work wouldn't be so difficult... lol j/k.  Have a good one.

YEEHAAA!!

It's been one of those days.  No, not THOSE days, one of the other kind. :) As most of you know, I'm trying to start a business.  One of the key pieces has to do with Windows File Server Services. There's a thing called a "Domain" where certain things  work together and 'automatically' get set up for you just by entering your password.  I finally got my XP system to join my domain today (server is Samba on Linux if you care). So, my 'home' directory gets mounted on login, and my desktop is now copied over from my server.  This allows me to be able to log in from different PCs and have the exact same environment.  And if the same applications are installed on all PCs, then everything works identically on both.  Once you have a domain set up, you can do several things with it.  So, this has been a key piece of what I needed to get working, and woohoo, it finally is working!  I'm so excited.  So, tomorrow, I reload the system, and see if I can get it working again within 5 minutes of the reload.

Have a good time. :)
